Once the Family Support Center or Voluntary Education Center has verified your military member's rank, they will connect you with the Department of Labor (DOL) One-Stop Career Center. The One-Stop Career Centers are responsible for administering the Career Advancement Accounts. They may provide you with career advice and will assist you with the remaining steps for a Career Advancement Account.
- Spouse selects appropriate education or training, which must lead to a degree or credential in a portable career field.
- Spouse enrolls in education or training.
- One-Stop Career Center uses the spouse's Career Advancement Account to pay the tuition and fees associated with the course.
- Spouse arranges for any certification tests and processes any license applications, as necessary.
- Spouse provides any data or documentation requested by Voluntary Education Center and One-Stop Career Center staff. For example: documentation of program participation and completion, employment, retention in employment, and earnings.
